1 bride 4 wedding dresses

Frissítve: 2020. jan. 29.

My first Chinese wedding. Sorry, I need to rephrase. My first Chinese-American wedding.

This happened in 2017. October. The weather was exceptional, pretty warm with a little breeze. From a photographer's perspective Fall has probably the best natural light.

The engagement photo session was, however, in the last days of December. They were in Budapest during the Holidays. I talked them into this since Budapest is amazing with all the decorations and lights. It was freezing cold, but nothing could stop us. They were all happy, smiling and in love.

Their wedding was a destination wedding. They met in Budapest while partying on New Year's Eve. They decided to invite all the guests to Budapest.

I got the memo 3 days before the wedding not to come by car since we will be moving all around the city with a designated staff bus. It is not easy to pack my gear in one bag. I like to have spare cameras, a lot of flashes for the party. Flashes need tripods. I had to make a same day edit slideshow, so my MacBook should have come too. 3-4 flashes a laptop, some tripods can be pretty heavy and bulky to carry the whole day. So I had to downsize the gear but still have a peace of mind. I checked all the venues and I remained with one suitcase with all the necessary gear and one tripod.

We started off at the Boscolo Budapest. Bride and groom were getting ready in separate suites. First, we were preparing for the Chinese tea ceremony. The whole family was waiting for the engaged couple in a rented apartment. The apartment was really tiny but the family filled it with love. It was really touching. This is where the groom's parents and the bride's parents met for the first time by the way. Really nice. :)

The Bride then changed from red to white. This dress was the wedding dress. In this dress we organized the first look. It was really good to have my second shooter with me. This is one really important moment. We could have it from two different perspective and angles. The ceremony was on the Fishermen's Bastion and followed by a dinner inside. The newly wife sang a beautiful song for her husband in a different but still pretty white dress. That was kinda' awesome.

The last dress was put on for the party. Everyone was transported down to the bank of the Danube to get on board. We were then partying on a boat until midnight. I, of course, made a same day slideshow edit. It is nice to see people go all tears whatching it.
